Harold Albert Lamb (September 1, 1892 – April 9, 1962) was an American historian, screenwriter, short story writer, and novelist.  Primarily known for historical novels in the Crusader and Cossack series. A Garden to the Eastward features a hidden tribe living in a volcano in Kurdistan.
